When alcohol is doing more than helping you unwind. The situation may be ordinary, but the story you attach to it can shape the whole day. The temptation is to solve the discomfort fast. But fast relief and faithful direction are not always the same thing. A habit becomes dangerous when it starts deciding for you. Jesus Christ did not free you so another appetite could quietly become your master. You do not have to solve your whole life before lunch. You do need to decide who gets the final word today.

What truth from Scripture needs to become louder than your first reaction today?

Lord Jesus Christ, I bring You the part I can explain and the part I cannot. Keep me from reacting out of fear, shame, pride, or loneliness. Teach me to move with You. Amen.
